PRESIDENT NAMES KNEELAND YOUNGBLOOD, M.D. AS MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, U.S. ENRICHMENT CORPORATION
The President today announced his intent to nominate Kneeland Youngblood, M.D. to the Board of Directors of the U.S. Enrichment Corporation (USEC).
Dr. Youngblood of Dallas, Texas, was initially appointed as a Member of the Board in February 1994. Dr. Youngblood is an Emergency Department staff physician at the Medical Center of Plano in Plano, Texas. He is also the President of Youngblood Enterprises, a business development and consulting company that provides capital and consulting services to emerging health and non-health businesses in Dallas, Texas. Since 1993, Dr. Youngblood has served as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas and since 1995 he has served as a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations based in New York. Dr. Youngblood holds a B.A. in Political Science/Science in Human Affairs from Princeton University, and an M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, Texas.
The U.S. Enrichment Corporation was established under the Energy Policy Act of 1992, and is the world leader in production and sales of uranium fuel enrichment services for commercial nuclear power plants. A global energy company with customers in 14 countries, USEC operations include approximately 5,000 people. With headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland, USEC manages gaseous diffusion enrichment plants in Kentucky and Ohio and is developing an advanced laser enrichment technology at facilities in California. USEC, a government corporation, is in the process of privatizing.
