STATEMENT BY THE VICE-PRESIDENT

Nashville, TN - Today, the President has taken action that reaffirms this country's commitment to our children and to our environment.

By issuing new clean air standards for ozone and particulate matter - soot and smog- he has made sure that our children will lead healthy lives and stay in school.

The President has made sure that these rules will be implemented in a reasonable way that protects our economic growth. This is an important day for our families and our future.
