STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

        Supplemental Report of Presidential Advisory Committee
                   on Gulf War Veterans' Illnesses

The Secretaries of Defense, Health and Human Services and Veterans Affairs transmitted the Presidential Advisory Committee on Gulf War Veterans' Illnesses Interim Supplemental Letter Report to the White House on May 15. This report, together with the response prepared by the Department of Defense and the Central Intelligence Agency, are important steps along the path toward meeting the responsibilities we have to our veterans.

The President is determined to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of the causes and cures for the illnesses afflicting many of our Gulf War veterans. We remain committed to ensuring our service men and women receive the care and benefits they deserve.
