PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES JOSEPH M. HAUER TO THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON THE ARTS OF THE JOHN F. KENNEDY CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

The President announced today his intent to appoint Joseph M. Hauer of Bismarck, North Dakota, to the Advisory Committee on the Arts of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Mr. Hauer is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of United Printing and Mailing, Inc., which he began in 1961. He is also the Vice Board Chairman of Bank Center First, and is active in real estate development in North Dakota and Arizona. Mr. Hauer has served as the President of the University of Mary Board of Regents. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the YMCA, the Bismarck Mandan Economic Development Association, and the lay advisory board of the St. Alexis Medical Center.

The Advisory Committee on the Arts of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is charged with advising and consulting with the Board of Trustees for the Center. In addition, the members of the Committee assist in the Center's fundraising and act as liaisons to performance groups and performing arts centers throughout the nation.
