PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES GARY W. DIVINE TO THE NATIONAL PARTNERSHIP COUNCIL
The President announced today his intent to appoint Gary W. Divine to the National Partnership Council.
Gary W. Divine, of Kansas City, Missouri, is currently President of the National Federation of Federal Employees, a position he assumed in May of 1996. Previously, he was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1966 to 1996. Mr. Divine has been an active member of the National Federation of Federal Employees, served as National Vice President of Region 8, and as President and Executive Vice President of Local Office 29. He graduated from Longview Community College and attended Kansas State College of Pittsburgh and the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970.
The National Partnership Council, established by executive order on October 1, 1993, is charged with advising the President on matters involving labor-management relations in the executive branch and in promoting labor-management partnerships to deliver the highest quality services to the American people.

PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES GARY W. DIVINE TO THE FEDERAL SALARY COUNCIL The President announced today his intent to appoint Gary W.
Divine to the Federal Salary Council.
Gary W. Divine, of Kansas City, Missouri, is currently President of the National Federation of Federal Employees, a position he assumed in May of 1996. Previously, he was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1966 to 1996. Mr. Divine has been an active member of the National Federation of Federal Employees, served as National Vice President of Region 8, and as President and Executive Vice President of Local Office 29. The Federal Salary Council was established by the Federal Employees Pay Comparability Act of 1990. The Council meets with the President's Pay Agent to provide views and recommendations on the establishment or modification of pay localities and the level of comparability payments that should be paid to eliminate or reduce pay disparities. The Council also provides recommendations on the coverage of annual surveys on occupations conducted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
