PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES DONNA H. CUNNINGHAME TO BE CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER OF THE CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE

The President announced today his intent to nominate Donna H. Cunninghame to the Corporation for National and Community Service.

Donna H. Cunninghame of Silver Spring, Maryland, was appointed the first full-time Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Resolution Trust Corporation. She served in that capacity from 1993 until the sunset of that Corporation on December 31, 1995. Prior to this position, she served as associate Vice Chancellor for Financial Affairs and CFO for the University of Maryland System. She also served as Assistant Treasurer of the Higher Education Assistance Foundation in Overland Park, Kansas, as Vice President of Finance for Isis Foods and as Director of Finance for the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority in Kansas City, Missouri. On July 1, Ms. Cunninghame was appointed to a five year term as a member of the Maryland Higher Education Commission. Additionally, she has served as a member of the Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Committee to the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB), was active in the National Association of College and University Business Officers and was on the executive committee of the Maryland Public Finance Officers Association. She received her B.A. from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in business and her M.G.A. from the University of Maryland University College.

The Corporation for National and Community Service, created by the National and Community Service Trust Act of 1993, engages Americans of all ages and backgrounds in service to their communities. Through its three main programs - AmeriCorps, Learn and Serve America, and the National Senior Service Corps - the Corporation provides a broad range of opportunities for Americans to serve our communities and our nation. The efforts supported by the Corporation address the nation's challenges in the area of education, public safety, human needs and the environment.
