STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

Visit of Prime Minister Persson of Sweden

President Clinton has invited Prime Minister G'ran Persson of Sweden to Washington for a working visit on August 6. Prime Minister Persson has accepted the invitation. This visit provides an opportunity for the two leaders to affirm the excellent relations that exist between the United States and Sweden. They expect to discuss a range of issues of mutual interest, including European security and developments in the Baltic region.
