Car Bombing in New Delhi

The United States is outraged by the terrorist attack in New Delhi today. We condemn this wanton act of terrorism in the strongest possible terms. We reiterate our long-standing position that the murder of innocent civilians is not a legitimate means of political expression. It is a crime deserving the maximum legal punishments.

We extend our sympathy and condolences to Prime Minister Vajpayee and to the families of the victims
