PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES J. RENE JOSEY TO BE UNITED STATES ATTORNEY FOR THE DISTRICT OF SOUTH CAROLINA
President Clinton today announced his intention to nominate J. Rene Josey to be the United States Attorney for the District of South Carolina. Josey received his B.A. from Clemson University in 1982 and received his J.D. in 1985 from the University of South Carolina. In 1987 Josey joined the law firm of Rogers & McBratney where he was made a partner in 1991. At the end of 1993 he opened his own practice in Florence, South Carolina. He handles a variety of cases including fraud, civil assault, negligence, sexual harassment, and racial discrimination matters. Josey, a member of the South Carolina Bar, is a Fellow and Director of the South Carolina Bar Association, and a member of the South Carolina Bar Judicial Screening Committee. Josey, his wife Marty, and their two children reside in Florence, South Carolina.
