       WHITE HOUSE EASTER EGG HUNT AND ROLL SCHEDULED FOR 
                      MONDAY APRIL 8, 1996

The White House will hold its traditional Easter Egg Roll and Hunt on Monday, April 8, 1996. The Easter activities include the Easter Egg Roll and Hunt for children ages 3 - 6 and entertainment. There will also be entertainment on the South Lawn. The theme of this year's event is "Education & Learning."

As part of Mrs. Clinton's ongoing effort to "showcase the best of America," there is an exhibit of hand-painted easter eggs located in the East Wing of the White House. The American Egg Board coordinated having one artist from each state decorate an egg for the display. Tickets for the South Lawn are required and can be picked up at the National Park Service Pavilion on the Ellipse on Monday, April 8. Distribution of tickets will begin at 7:00 AM. The South Lawn will be open from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.

               1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

PRESS NOTE: This event will be open to White House press. There will be an escort to the South Grounds at approximately 9:45 to cover the President's remarks as he officially kicks-off the fesivities.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Every person going on to the South Lawn will need a ticket. Tickets will have a time printed on them indicating the time they should go to the South Lawn. To accommodate the festivities, E Street between 15th and 17th Streets will be closed. As parking is severely limited, people are encouraged to use public transportation. In case of inclement weather, all events are cancelled and not rescheduled.
