PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES KAILASH MATHUR TO THE NATIONAL NUTRITION
MONITORING ADVISORY COUNCIL
The President today announced his intention to re-appoint Kailash Mathur to the National Nutrition Monitoring Advisory Council.
Dr. Mathur is a professor of nutritional science and advisor to the nutritional sciences graduate program at South Carolina State University. He possesses extensive teaching and research experience in the areas of dairy science and nutrition. Dr. Mathur has also taught at Egerton College in Njoro, Kenya.
Dr. Mathur is a former Member of the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Dietetic Association. He is a doctor of veterinary medicine and also possesses a Ph.D. in nutritional science and an M.S. in dairy science. Dr. Mathur lives in Orangeburg, South Carolina with his wife, where he is an active member of the community.
The purpose of the National Nutritional Monitoring Advisory Council is to provide scientific and technical advice on the development and implementation of a ten-year comprehensive plan for national nutrition monitoring and to serve in an advisory capacity to the Secretaries of the Departments of Health and Human Services and Agriculture regarding the enhancement of this comprehensive plan.
