STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

President Clinton will meet Japanese Prime Minister Hashimoto February 23, when he is in Santa Monica, California. The President is looking forward to this informal meeting with the Prime Minister, who assumed his responsibilities last month following the resignation of Prime Minister Murayama. The President and Prime Minister will discuss a wide range of bilateral issues in preparation for the April visit of the President to Japan.
