STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

Visit by President Leonid Kuchma of Ukraine

President Leonid Kuchma of Ukraine will visit the United States on February 20-22, 1996 to receive the "Freedom Award" from the non-profit institution, Freedom House. President Clinton and Vice President Gore will meet with President Kuchma in the White House on February 21 during his visit to Washington. The "Freedom Award" recognizes President Kuchma's leadership in promoting a democratic and independent Ukraine.
