STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

President Clinton has congratulated Mr. Costas Simitis on his election today as the new Prime Minister of Greece. Greece and the United States are close friends and allies; we also share special ties of kinship. The United States looks forward to working closely with Prime Minister Simitis.
