PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES PATRICIA W. MCNEIL AS ASSISTANT SECRETARY
FOR VOCATIONAL AND ADULT EDUCATION
The President today announced his intent to nominate Patricia W. McNeil as Assistant Secretary for Vocational and Adult Education at the Department of Education.
Patricia W. McNeil of Massachusetts is currently serving as Acting Assistant Secretary for the Office of Vocational and Adult Education. Previously, Ms. McNeil served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for the same office. Prior to joining the Department of Education, she was the president of Workforce Policy Associates, a small business specializing in education, school-to-work transition, job training and employment issues. During the early eighties, Ms. McNeil served as executive director of the National Commission for Employment Policy, an independent agency which reported to the President and to Congress on employment issues. She received her undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
