                       VICE PRESIDENT GORE MEETS
                 WITH PRESIDENT LENNART MERI OF ESTONIA

Vice President Al Gore met yesterday with President Lennart Meri of Estonia. The Vice President congratulated Meri on Estonia's success in building a democratic, rule-of-law state and a market economy. He expressed the strong support of the United States for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Estonia. Vice President Gore and President Meri also discussed bilateral cooperation.
