          PRESIDENT NAMES ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF THE AIR FORCE 
                            FOR ACQUISITION

            President Clinton announced today his intention to nominate

Arthur L. Money of California to be the next Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition.

Mr. Money is currently vice president and deputy general manager of TRW's Avionics and Surveillance Group, a position he has held since January 1, 1995. From 1990 to 1994, Mr. Money was president of ESL Incorporated, a subsidiary of TRW, before it was consolidated with TRW's Avionics and Surveillance Group on January 1, 1995. From 1989 to 1990 Mr. Money was vice president of ESL Advanced Programs and Development, and from 1984 to 1989 he was vice president and general manager of the Signals, Analysis and Systems Division. Mr. Money joined ESL in 1972 as an engineer. Prior to joining ESL, he worked for Lockheed Missiles and Space Company for 10 years.

Mr. Money holds a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from the University of Santa Clara, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University.

As Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Mr. Money will be directly responsible to the Secretary of the Air Force for the overall supervision of the Air Force acquisition system.
