         PRESIDENT NAMES BURTON P. RESNICK TO THE UNITED STATES
                       HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL COUNCIL

     President Clinton announced today his intent to appoint Burton P.

Resnick to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council.

Burton P. Resnick of New York is the President of Jack Resnick & Sons, a company which has been at the forefront of the real estate development, construction, ownership and management business in New York since 1928. Mr. Resnick is the Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Governors of the Real Estate Board of New York, a former member of the New York State Business Advisory Council of the Urban Development Corporation and the New York State Temporary Commission on Rental Housing. He is the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of Yeshiva University and Chairman of the Board of Overseers of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Additionally, Mr. Resnick is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hebrew Home for the Aged at Riverdale, New York, and the Board of Directors of Carnegie Hall. Also, he has served as Campaign Chairman of the United Jewish Appeal-Federation and is Co-Chairman of the Real Estate Council of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He received his B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1956.

The United States Holocaust Memorial Council was established in 1979 to provide for the annual commemoration and observance of the Days of Remembrance as an annual, national, civic commemoration of the Holocaust, and to construct and operate a permanent living memorial museum to its victims.
