PRESIDENT NAMES STANLEY TUEMLER ESCUDERO AS AMBASSADOR TO THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN
The President today announced his intention to nominate Stanley Tuemler Escudero of Florida, a Career Member of the Senior Foreign Service, Class of Minister-Counselor, as Ambassador to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Ambassador Escudero's 28 years of foreign service includes extensive experience in Iran, South Asia, the Middle East and Africa as well as in Washington. He most recently served as Ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan in the former Soviet Union.
Married for the past 28 years to the former M. Jaye Cobb, Ambassador Escudero was born March 10, 1942 in Daytona Beach, Florida. He speaks French and Farsi (Persian). The Escuderos have two sons, Alexander, age 21, and Benjamin, age 17.
