STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

The United States and the European Union have agreed to hold a U.S.-EU Summit in Washington on June 14. President Clinton will meet with President Chirac, as current president of the European Council, and European Commission President Santer.

President Clinton and President Chirac will also hold a separate bilateral meeting to discuss various issues of common interest.
