STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

Official Working Visit of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe

President Clinton has invited President Robert Mugabe of the Republic of Zimbabwe for an official working visit to the White House on May 18. President Mugabe has accepted the invitation.

The two leaders will discuss issues of democracy, market reform, international peacekeeping and a range of bilateral and international interests. President Mugabe will also meet with senior Administration officials and travel to North Carolina for a meeting with Governor James B. Hunt, Jr., before returning to Zimbabwe.
