PRESIDENT CLINTON ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF OKLAHOMA CITY

DISASTER DECLARATION

The President today amended his April 26 declaration of a major disaster in the city of Oklahoma City in the State of Oklahoma as a result of the bombing at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal building in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995.

The President's amended declaration authorizes the addition of Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation to the major disaster declaration. This action makes Federal funding available to affected state and local governments in Oklahoma county.

Federal funding is available to eligible local governments on a 75 percent Federal cost-sharing basis for the repair or replacement of public facilities damaged by the explosion. FEMA will continue funding costs associated with debris removal and emergency protective measures, as authorized by Section 501(b) in the April 19 declaration, at 100 percent Federal funding.
