PRESIDENT NAMES STRICKER TO RETIREMENT THRIFT BOARD

The President today announced his intention to nominate Jerome A. Stricker of Kentucky to be a member of the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board.

Mr. Stricker is a certified public accountant who is currently a management and financial consultant. He is a former president and director of the Cincinnati Stock Exchange and has served as an arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers since 1988. Mr. Stricker is the retired Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Gradison and Company, Inc., a member firm of the New York Stock Exchange. Currently, he is Director of the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati International Airport and previously served as a Trustee of the University of Kentucky, where he received a bachelor of science degree in Commerce.

The Board is responsible for managing the Thrift Savings Fund. The Thrift Savings Fund is a special tax-deferred savings fund established by the Federal Employees' Retirement System Act of 1986. Program administration for the Thrift Savings Fund is financed from the Fund.
