                   THE PRESIDENT AND MRS. CLINTON HOST 
                    A CELEBRATION OF IRELAND HONORING 
      HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRIME MINISTER OF IRELAND AND MRS. BRUTON

The President and Mrs. Clinton will host a "Celebration of Ireland" honoring his Excellency The Prime Minister of Ireland and Mrs. Bruton on Friday, March 17, 1995. Guests will begin arriving at the East Visitor's Entrance of the White House at 7:00 PM.

The President and Mrs. Clinton and the Prime Minister and Mrs. Bruton will be escorted down the grand staircase by Dr. Richard S. Blair, Officer-in-Charge of the United States Air Force Pipe Band. The 350 guests will be received by the President and Mrs. Clinton and the Prime Minister of Ireland and Mrs. Bruton in the Diplomatic Receiving Room. Traditional Irish entertainment will be featured throughout the White House with principal entertainment featured in the East Room.

A traditional Irish buffet will be served in the State Dining Room. The Menu for the evening will be:

              Smoked Irish Fishes to include Salmon, Trout, Mackerel
                        Eel with Condiments and Soda Bread
               Variety of Irish Cheeses with Hovis All Wheat Bread

                    Dublin Bay Prawns with Black Bush Whiskey
                          Tarragon Chicken in Red Potato
                  Poached Salmon with Watercress on Potato Bread
                      West Cork Crab Meat Flavored with Mead

              Irish Breakfast Canape (chopped bacon, tomato, sausage filled
                      pastry pattie shell and topped with a fried quail egg)
                  Braised Brisket of Beef with Horseradish Sauce
                           Root Vegetables and Cabbage
                Limerick Ham and Asparagus Roulade in Irish Cheddar Sauce

                              Black Stout Fruitcake
                              Irish Whiskey Truffles
                                  Short Bread
                             Strawberry Shamrock Pie
                                Irish Coffee Cake
                              Bailey's Cream Mousse
