PRESIDENT NAMES LEROY F. SAUNDERS TO THE COMMITTEE FOR PURCHASE FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE BLIND OR SEVERELY DISABLED
President Clinton announced today his intention to appoint LeRoy F. Saunders to the Committee for Purchase from People who are Blind or Severely Disabled.
LeRoy F. Saunders of Oklahoma is formerly the Executive Director for the Oklahoma League for the Blind, and is the President of the American Council of the Blind, a Member of the Board of Trustees of the American Foundation for the Blind, and a member of many other state and national organizations addressing the issues of the blind and visually handicapped. For over forty years, he has been a prominent advocate for people who are blind. Mr. Saunders, who is blind, has an in depth understanding of the employment problems, opportunities and issues that such individuals face on a daily basis.
The Committee for Purchase from People who are Blind or Severely Disabled was established for the purpose of determining the fair market price of suitable products manufactured by blind persons and other severely disabled individuals.
