STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

President Clinton has asked Ambassador Madeleine Albright to visit a number of United Nations Security Council capitals to consult on Iraq. She will be consulting at each stop regarding the best means of ensuring Iraq's full compliance with its obligations as established by the United Nations. Ambassador Albright will be departing the evening of Feb. 23 for initial discussions in European capitals. Details of the remainder of her itinerary are still being developed.
