PRESIDENT NAMES BIONDI TO EXPORT COUNCIL

The President today announced his intent to appoint Frank J. Biondi, Jr., of New York to be a member of the President's Export Council.

Mr. Biondi is President and Chief Executive Officer of Viacom, Inc., one of the world's largest entertainment and publishing companies. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Home Box Office and is a member of the boards of the Museum of Television and Radio and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

The Export Council was established within the Department of Commerce to advise the President on matters related to export performance and to encourage export expansion. The Council also provides a forum for resolving trade-related problems among business, industrial, agricultural, labor and government sectors.
