PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES VANDERHYE TO NATIONAL CAPITAL PLANNING

COMMISSION

President Clinton has announced his intent to appoint Margaret Vanderhye of Virginia as a Member of the National Capital Planning Commission.

Margaret Vanderhye is currently on Virginia's Chesapeake Bay Local Assistance Board and the Commission on Population, Growth and Development. Mrs. Vanderhye is former chair of the Citizens Advisory Committee to the Northern Virginia 2010 Transportation Plan and former President of the Virginia Association of Planning District Commissions. From 1987 - 1989, she served as president of the Virginia Planning District Commission. She holds a masters degree in international relations and economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

The National Capital Planning Commission is the central planning agency for the Federal government in the National Capital Region. As such, the Commission reviews and approves Federal construction proposals within the National Capital Region and evaluates the Federal Capital Improvements Program for the Office of Management and Budget.
