VISIT OF BELGIAN PRIME MINISTER DEHAENE

Prime Minister Jean-Luc Dehaene of the Kingdom of Belgium has accepted the President's invitation to pay an official working visit to Washington on February 15, 1995. The President looks forward to renewing broad discussions with Prime Minister Dehaene, whom he met on his trip to Europe in January 1994.

Belgium, host to the headquarters of NATO and the European Union, is a close U.S. ally and trading partner. Belgium is active in a broad array of multilateral institutions and provides a key component to peacekeeping operations in Haiti, the former Yugoslavia, Somalia, and Central Africa. The two leaders will discuss these and other areas of mutual interest and cooperation during the Prime Minister's visit.
