PRESIDENT ANNOUNCES HIS INTENT TO NOMINATE EUGENE BRANSTOOL CHAIRMAN OF THE FEDERAL AGRICULTURE MORTGAGE CORPORATION

President Clinton today announced his intention to nominate Eugene Branstool Chairman of the Federal Agriculture Mortgage Corporation. Mr. Branstool is a native of Ohio and has owned and operated a farm in Utica, Ohio since 1962.

Mr. Branstool served in the Ohio Senate from 1982 - 1990 where he was minority whip and served as Chairman of the State Senate Energy and Environment Committee. From 1974 - 1982, Mr. Branstool served in the Ohio House of Representatives where he was Chairman of the State Park Review Committee.

In his capacity as Chairman of the Federal Agriculture Mortgage Corporation, Mr. Branstool will be chairing the 15 member Board of Directors for the Corporation which provides American farmers, ranchers and rural homeowners with stable access to intermediate and long-term fixed rate real estate loans at competitive rates.
