President Clinton to Address Pearl Harbor Survivors Association

President Clinton will place a telephone call to the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association's Annual Conference in Tampa Bay, Fla. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 9:45 a.m. EST.

The President will pay tribute to those who served in the Armed Forces during the attack on Pearl Harbor and will recognize the first Proclamation in remembrance of Pearl Habor Day. On Aug. 23, 1994, President Clinton signed into law a resolution calling for an annual proclamation in remembrance of Pearl Harbor Day.

The Pearl Harbor Survivors Association has approximately 12,000 members and includes veterans of all the services who were stationed on the island of Oahu on Dec. 7, 1941. Five hundred survivors are expected to attend the Annual Conference in Tampa Bay.
