PRESIDENT CLINTON COMMUTES SENTENCE OF ERNEST KRIKAVA
President Clinton today (11/23) commuted the prison sentence of Ernest Krikava, a 70-year-old hog farmer from Nebraska. The President's grant of executive clemency will allow Krikava to return home to his family for the Thanksgiving holiday.
In 1993, Krikava was sentenced to 5 months in prison, 5 months of home confinement, and 36 months of supervised release for perjury. The President commuted Krikava's five month prison term to time served and removed the condition of 5 months of home confinement; he also reduced the period of supervised release from 36 to 31 months.
