            GEORGE K. MCKINNEY NAMED UNITED STATES MARSHAL
                     FOR THE DISTRICT OF MARYLAND

George McKinney has served on the Security and Emergency Planning staff at the Department of Justice since 1982, most recently as Assistant Director. Prior to this employment, Mr. McKinney worked on the Systems Policy and Planning Staff and at the Department of Justice. In addition, Mr. McKinney served as U.S. Marshall in the District of Colombia from 1973-1977, and Deputy U.S. Marshall in the District of Maryland from 1966-1968.

Mr. McKinney was born in Providence, Rhode Island on December 16, 1934. He received a B.S. in 1956 from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland and served in the United States Army from 1956 until 1965. He is married and has five children.
