          PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES ROBERT H. McKINNEY TO 
               CREDIT STANDARDS ADVISORY COMMITTEE

President Clinton today announced his intention to appoint Robert H. McKinney to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Credit Standards Advisory Committee.

Mr. McKinney is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of First Indiana Corporation, which operates First Indiana Bank, the largest bank based in Indianapolis. He is also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Somerset Group, a diversified company currently specializing in banking and construction.

Mr. McKinney received a bachelor of science degree from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and a law degree from Indiana University.

The Credit Standards Advisory Committee is responsible for review of the credit standards and lending practices of insured depository institutions and supervision of such standards and practices by federal financial regulators.
