        PRESIDENT NAMES EDDIE J. JORDAN TO BE THE UNITED STATES 
             ATTORNEY FOR THE EASTERN DISTRICT OF LOUISIANA

President Clinton today announced his intention to nominate Eddie J. Jordan to be the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Mr. Jordan served as counsel to Bryan, Jupiter, Lewis and Blanson from 1992 to 1994. Prior to that, he was an Associate Attorney and later a Partner with Sessions and Fishman. He was also an Assistant States Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana and an Assistant Professor of Law at Southern University School of Law. He had also been an Associate Attorney with Pepper, Hamilton and Scheetz and has served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the State District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Jordan received a Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law in 1977. He also attended Wesleyan University in Connecticut, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in 1974. He has been a member of the State Bar of Pennsylvania since 1977 and also has been a member of the State Bar of Louisiana since 1984. He was born in Fort Campbell, KY and is married.
