PRESIDENT ANNOUNCES HIS INTENTION TO NOMINATE JOEL D. VALDEZ AS A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL COMMISSION ON LIBRARIES AND INFORMATION SCIENCE
President Clinton today announced his intention to nominate Joel D. Valdez as a Member of the National Commission on Libraries and Information Science.
Joel E. Valdez, of Arizona, is Senior Vice President for Business Affairs at the University of Arizona. He formerly served as City Manager for the City of Tucson and as Administrative Assistant to the Director of the City-County Library Department.
The National Commission on Libraries and Information Science is an independent agency within the conducting studies, surveys, and analyses of the library and informational needs of the nation and the means by which these needs may be met.
