                VICE PRESIDENT GORE TO TRAVEL TO OTTAWA
               TO PREPARE FOR THE SUMMIT OF THE AMERICAS
                            July 18-19, 1994

WASHINGTON -- Vice President Al Gore today (6/16) announced that he will visit Ottawa on July 18-19, 1994 at the invitation of Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien. The two will discuss preparations for the Summit of the Americas in Miami on December 9-10, 1994, where democratically elected hemispheric leaders will address issues of mutual concern including democracy and effective government, trade and investment, and sustainable economic development.
