             PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES VERONICA GOLDBERG TO 
        THE PRESIDENT'S COUNCIL ON PHYSICAL FITNESS AND SPORTS

The President today announced the appointment of Veronica Goldberg as a member of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

Ms. Goldberg is a consultant to Bally's Health and Tennis Corporation, and very active in community projects. Ms. Goldberg is married to Arthur Goldberg, Chairman and CEO of Bally Manufacturing Corporation, which includes Bally's Casinos and Lifecycle exercise equipment.

The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports advises the President and the Secretary of Health and Human Services on ways to increase Americans' participation in physical fitness and sports activities. Council members use their leadership roles to promote the cause of physical fitness by their participation in events, conferences, and similar activities. The President's Council is located within the Department of Health and Human Services.
