PRESIDENT TO NAME COHEN TO NLRB

President Clinton announced his intention today to nominate Charles I. Cohen to be a member of the National Labor Relations Board.

"Charles Cohen is a respected attorney with years of experience on the NLRB staff. I believe he will be an effective member of the Board," said the President.

Cohen is currently a partner in the Washington law firm of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart. Before joining that firm in 1990, he spent more than a decade with the firm of Vedder, Price, Kaufman, Kammholz & Day. During that time, he was also an adjunct faculty member at the Catholic University of America's Columbus School of Law.

From 1971-79, Cohen was an attorney for the NLRB, working in several different positions, including stints as Supervisory Attorney for the Office of General Counsel's Advice division, and as Supervisory Attorney of the Board's Region IV office in Philadelphia.

A graduate of Tulane University and the University of Pittsburgh Law School, Cohen resides in Chevy Chase, MD. He is married, and has two children.
