Statement by the Press Secretary

The President underwent a routine physical examination at Bethesda Naval Hospital today.

Among the tests included in the examination were: chest x-ray, hearing test, eye examination, electrocardiogram (EKG), treadmill test, allergy examination, dermatology examination, and analysis of the blood.

The physical was performed by the physician staff of the Bethesda Naval Hospital under the direction of Dr. Robert Ramsey, White House physician.

The President is in excellent health, with no indication of heart disease or other serious disorders. The President is 6'2 1/2" and weighs 210 lbs. His blood pressure was 132 over 74 with a resting pulse of 57. The President's cholesterol was 204. All other blood tests were completely normal. The President was advised to continue his allergy desensitization injections.
