PRESIDENT NAMES TWO TO FDIC BOARD

The President announced today that he has nominated Anne L. Hall to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and he has re-nominated Andrew C. Hove to be a Board member and Vice Chair.

"With their banking expertise and demonstrable committments to public service, Anne Hall and Andrew Hove are outstanding choices for the FDIC board," said the President. "They will work hard to ensure that the American people's savings are secure."

Anne L. Hall, currently the vice president for corporate affairs of the Banc One Corporation in Columbus, Ohio, has a broad range of expereience in retail banking, corporate philanthropy, government and community relations, and electronic consumer services. She has been with Banc One, a major regional bank holding company, since 1984. She previosuly worked for Warner Amex Cable Communications, Inc. and started her own communications firm, Anne Hall & Company, Inc. In addition, she has been a professional fundraiser for Ohioans for Wildlife Conservation and several statewide and national political campaigns. A native of Cincinnati, Hall attended Xavier University and Ohio State University Honors College, and has served on a number of community and profesional boards. She lives in Columbus, Ohio, with her husband, John Connor, a county court judge.

Andrew C. Hove has been Vice Chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation's Board of Directors since 1990, and has been its acting chairman since August 1992. Before entering public service, he had spent 30 years working for the Minden Exchange Bank & Trust Co., a $90 million bank serving a Nebraska community with roughly 3,000 residents. Hove was the bank's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He was also active in the Nebraska Bankers Association and American Bankers Association, serving as a vice president of the ABA from 1988-90. In addition, he served as mayor of Minden from 1974-82, and was active in many community activities. A U.S. Navy veteran, Hove holds a B.S. from the University of Nebraska and attended the graduate school of banking at the University of Wisconsin. He and his wife, Ellan, have three children. He is 59 years old.
