            PRESIDENT CLINTON DECLARES MAJOR DISASTER 
         IN STATE OF OREGON, FEMA FUNDING MADE AVAILABLE

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The President today declared a major disaster exists in Oregon as a result of earthquakes on September 20, 1993 and ordered the Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide public assistance to back-up local and state recovery efforts.

President Clinton's action makes federal funding available to affected communities in Klamath County.
