PRESIDENT CLINTON DECLARES MAJOR DISASTER IN KANSAS
WASHINGTON, D.C. - President Clinton today declared a major disaster exists in Kansas as a result of severe storms and flooding and ordered the Federal Emergency Management Agency to assist individuals and families in a five county area. Kansas is the eighth state declared a major disaster as a result of the recent floods.
President Clinton's action makes federal funding available to affected individuals and families in Dwandotte, Leavenworth, Harvey, Douglas and Johnson counties.
